BBS Support
Michael, who runs the Disk Cache BBS in Mountain View, CA,
has very kindly offered to let his system be a forum for questions about
CDP; and the latest shareware version of CDP will be kept on his system.
All CDP questions will receive a prompt response. You may scan all
such messages easily at one time and should find answers not only to your
current question, but to unanticipated ones. Not to mention advice about CDP
uses that others have discovered.
You may call Disk Cache at: 415-941-2647
The protocols are: 1200-2400,N,8,1
And the friendly SYSOP is Michael.
Send messages To: ALL
with Subj.: CDP causes ozone depletion
or whatever -- just be sure to mention CDP in the subject!!
There is a special CDP conference where all the CDP-related messages
are gathered. When in that conference you have download privileges for
materials in that conference, including the latest version of CDP.
To get to the conference just type J 3 <Return>. (J is for Join
and the conference number is 3.)
Hints to save on your phone bill if there is a toll:
If you have a question to ask, prepare it in an Ascii file of no
more than 72 columns per line, and 50 lines maximum. After you have
started your message for your question, simply upload that Ascii
file in Ascii mode (all Comm packages have such a mode).
You can download recent mail for your review, thus saving
additional connect time. But first you must 'open a door'. Its very
simple, open 1 <Return>, from the main menu.
To see all the questions and answers of others who have been there
before you, do the ZIPM option, which will put all the messages
(or just the latest ones if you already have seen the earlier ones)
into a .ZIP file which you can download swiftly and economically.
